How do I know if I have my skimmer set correctly. My tank is just over one month old. My parameters are good except nitrates which I just checked and were at .20.
The inner cup of the skimmer at the top is very dirty, but little to nothings seems to be going over the top. I have not ever had to empty it. I did once, but only because I wanted to. It was not full. When I emptied it, I cleaned the inside of the cup. Should I clean the inner part or am I supposed to let the inner build up remain.
