I had a post about kick ich. I found an inexpensive UV sterilizer so I got it. Its a coralife turbo twist 6X. I believe the 18 watt. I was reading the manual on it and it says to be effective for ich parasite that it needs to be at 200 gph. Its rated for tanks much larger than my system so I figured it was good?
Should I get a pump rated for 200gph or should I aim for even less than that? Just to be safe.
Can you overkill with a uv?
Ive never used on of these before but I know it will help eradicate the free swimming stage. Not the stage that drops off the fish but the stage right after it hatches and becomes free swimming.
Does this prove to be effective in some cases or is it a waste on my electric bill?
