CPR has been making the Backpack skimmer in one for or another for 17+ years. I owned one myself back in 1995. Personally, I think there are much better options out there.

I've been running this one for a couple of years. I like it for the most part. Well constructed with a high quality pump. Easy to disassemble for cleaning. The adjustment for wet or dry skimmate is simple...maybe too simple. That o-ring makes me nervous sometimes.

i ran one on my old 55 gallon, had to add an air pump and a wood stone to get good enough microbubbles.

Edit: keep nems away though that pump will eat them for lunch.
