M mojo Active Member Market Messages 2,201 Reaction score 2 Aug 22, 2008 #2 Extruded is typically fairly brittle and more difficult to work with. Cast is a lot higher quality, and is almost always used when making tanks and higher-end skimmers, reactors, etc. Costs a lot more, too.
