Coral Frags vs. Colonies

Which do you prefer to purchase, frags or colonies? I like buying frags because of the rewards of watching it grow out. But, in some circumstances, buying larger pieces of coral helps fill in a large aquarium.

So, which do you prefer and what is your reasoning?

I'm with you on the frag, I enjoy seeing it grow as well.

Frags because they grow to the tank& flow. I have had colonies that once added change their growth pattern and look out of place.

I think this is more likely to occur with sps though

Depends on the price for me. Since colonies grow as well I get that satisfaction from both.

If I can justify the price then a colony! I haven't personally had a problem with colonies looking funny.
Now.... They may appear out of place if they are huge and everything else is an inch long stuck on a frag plug
