Cpr overflow box noise

I cant seem to get this overflow box to quiet down. It keeps making draining noises. I even put a ball valve to slow the flow rate down and that didnt seem to help. Any ideas? Im at the point where I want to move my tank out of my room because i cant sleep at night lol.

Can you put an acrylic cover on the top of it to muffle the noise?

I put some foam over mine and it helped.

Have you tried raising or lowering the clear plastic tube that is on top of the drain? Had to make some adjustments to mine to find the sweet spot where it's quiet.
