Drop in Chiller vs In Line

I was wondering which works better, the cyclone drop in chiller or an in line chiller? It seems like there would not be enough circulation to get the drop in to be as efficienct as a in line flow through type chiller. Obviously, the more flow you have in your tank the better the drop in will work. Thanks.

I've heard the drop-ins are more problematic, but I haven't seen them in action myself.
