Help with adding a RO/DI unit

Ok so im adding a five stage system. I have it down and understand how to hook it up. so this morning I have everything layed out and get ready to cut the supply line of my hot water heater. and get this thought of.. is this line pressurized or not. Can any one tell me if it is before i cut into this thing. and if so how do i get the pressure off the line. it does have an expansion tank in line with it. any help would be great. Thanks mike

Do NOT use the hot water line
