Hi folks,

My last set of pics on the mystery goby were hard to see, between lighting, dirty glass and him blending in with the substrate. Hopefully this is a better picture.

Any thoughts are appreciated. I want to name him a camo (for camoflauge) goby.

Thanks,

Mark

Yes, he/she is a cool fish, however you'll have to get in line behind Linda Lee. This was originally purchased for her and her tank wasn't ready. So she put him up for adoption without seeing him and I became the new dad. I saw her two days ago and she misses him/her. 8^)

No doubt about it ... he's an Opel GT. I'd guess he's about a 1972 model. They're rare. Hold on to that guy!

If anybody at petland duluth is seeing this could you find out what it is(that is where i bought it at). I know that it is a long shot that anyone will be able to find out what it is, try posting on RC, I bet more people would know about what kind of goby it is just because I see people from all over the world.

I have this fish now and it finally has a name. I came across it in http://www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/ItemDisplay.cfm?ddid=36435&siteid=20">LiveAquaria's Divers Den</a> today.

Linda,

Yes, that is an exact match for our goby. Hope he is doing well in your tank. He only came out at feeding time and night, however I think part of that was due to my flame hawkfish.

I recently purchased a diamond goby and haven't seen him since adding him to the tank. I added him at night, but the hawkfish was out and about and chased him somewhere in the back of the reef.

I'm contemplating selling the flame hawkfish.

Good luck with your goby. Glad he has a happy home.

I see the Hasselt fairly often, but my tank is only 55g.

He does like to make an appearance at feeding time and for awhile it seemed like he had bonded with one of my pom pom crabs in a strange way (they would always come out together).

I have a flame hawkfish too... never seems to bother anything in my tank (although Ouling swears this guy ate peppermint shrimp). Guess hawks are hit or miss. I love Hawkeye.

:)
