How do you unstick a magnavore 8?

So I was using this product with the magnivore 8 to take out scraches in the acylic and I was changing the type of pad and the thing slamed on my fingers but I was able to pry them out. Now the magnet is stuck together. How do you get them apart?

Hi, I have a Magnavore 8. It took two people, one to get a flat head screwdriver in between to pry it open (open it up like a book) and the other to pull it apart. Be very careful.

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms">the best way i've found is to twist them until they aren't lined up and then seperate them. After that, try to put 2 pieces of cardboard between them so they can be slid easier.</span>

Ouch, hope your finger is okay. Be really careful will those. I read where someone literally took off the end of their finger with some neodymium magnets.
