Was monitoring my Aquarium today at work and the salinity has been dropping all day, The salinity probe is about two years old is this how they die?

Clean and re-calibrate first.

+1 and make sure you cross check it with a refractometer for accuracy.

Cleaning and or bubbles in the end of the probe. If it won't calibrate it's dead.
