So I have a plate coral that died a while ago. I left it in the tank and behold it has now had babies. There are at least 30 small ones on it. Some are growing on top of others. What should I do? They are almost encrusting the old coral, and some are almost the size of a dime. Others are smaller. Any advice on what I should do? Do you frag plate corals or what?

When they are about dime size you can snap them off(they usually break off around then anyway) and you have baby plates you can keep or sell. They will also keep growing off the old dead one so keep it and you will have a constant supply of baby plates.

Or if its a neat looking plate Ill just buy it off ya!

ok, Thanks all, I'll wait till they pop off themselves and see what everyone thinks.

You are a luck man! Ive tried several times and never got one to have babies show up. Whatever you did great job!

Here is one I took about a month ago.
