I had a toad fish years ago, that I caught by hand in Tampa Bay. It was a baby about 2 1/2 inches, but quickly grew to about 6, then let it go.
I've seen them in the wild up to about a foot. Absolute tyrant of a fish! I kept mine in it's own tank too, because the fish demanded it
