I just pickup an Octopus 110 Recirculating 2009 skimmer. I am finding a lot of contradicting information on the web and in the instructions. I tried to get a hold of Coralvue and I have not had a response. The issues that I have are:
1. What is the recommended GPH for the pump?
It's not in the instructions. I have read 500 GPH (which does not make sense to me) and 1.5 times the tank capacity. The 1.5 makes more sense to me. If I'm trying to skim the water, I don't think blowing it thru the skimmer at 500 GPH is going to help.
2. The instruction says it is an external application.
Everywhere I see this skimmer sold on the web says that it is Internal and External. And I mean everywhere.
Does anyone have any specific information on this one? Or know where I can find it?
