I broke my ph monitor and am concerned with using a calcium reactor without some sort of ph monitoring. I was looking at the SMS122 - pH Controller, has anyone had any experience with this unit? Its almost the same price as other ph monitors.

I just noticed a differnt. This one only controls the pH in one direction. If I remember correctly, CO2 only drops the pH, right?

All of the pH controllers only control in one direction. When the CO2 is injected, the pH drops. The controller watches the pH, and when it gets below a certain point (6.5, 6.6, etc), then it turns off the CO2 (via solenoid). Pretty much any pH controller will do what you need it to.
