Saving filter media

My hob filter went out today and I can't go to the store till tomorrow - I run purigen and matrix. Is it ok to float the media in a mesh breeder in the tank so the media can get oxygen? I don't wanna lose all my good bacteria!

bacteria isnt as fragile as people make out. only the balance is.
you may have a mini mini cycle but probably not noticeable. my experience only.

get a bubbler or powerhead to agitate the surface of the water and you will come out smelling like a rose.
