sealife systems skimmer question

I have an in the sump sealife systems skimmer (old) running a rio 2100 pump. I believe the skimmer style is venturi as the air enters after the pump. I have cleaded the venturi area and the air inlet. I am still getting large bubbles. Is there a way to improve this skimmer to get the millions of micro bubbles to improve the effectiveness?

Are you just testing it or is it already installed in your system. I ask because you will only get large bubbles if you are testing it with fresh water. If you are getting large bubbles in salt water, I'd check the impeller now that you've cleaned out the venturi.

You are correct I was testing in fresh water. I have placed back in the sump it is producing micro bubbles now.
