Just before I pull the trigger on a now skimmer I wanted to check something. My sump is a three chamber sump, first is the dean, second is open (fuge or what ever, and third is return. The baffles that would regulate the height in the middle is only 6.5” tall. The skimmer I’m planning on getting required 9.5-10” of water. It wouldn’t be an issue running the sump higher would it? I calculated I’d still have 11g of space if I run at 10”, it might just have some water that skips past the middle section straight to the return section.

I guess it would depend on your ATO setup. With a skimmer in its own, independent chamber, you have the same water level regardless of where your ATO level/evap level are at. If you raise the water level and bypass that last baffle, your skimmer is now dependent on your ATO for a consistent water level. Not the end of the world but could be a pain

I use the Tunze so it’s pretty accurate about kicking on/off at appropriate levels.

idk 6.5” is pretty shallow, maybe I’ll keep looking?
