How much flow should there b in a sps tank mine is 90 gallons and I run 2 koralia 4's is this enough flow I see alot of sps tanks with multiple meanings 3 or more power heads.

I have been asking the same question and from what I have gathered you should have between 40-50x turnover. I have been asking about a SPS only tank, so it might need to be a little lower in your tank since it is a mixed reef. How about some updated pics of the tank?

There really is no magic number. In my opinion, you cant have too much flow, and the more the better for SPS. This is rather a gross generalization, but it works for the most part.

I think it is hard to give a number based on pump outputs. The 40-50 Xs rule of thumb is good, but should be looked at as VERY general IMO.

Some pumps/nozles can send 1000gph send water gentle accross the tank barely moving anything on the other side of the tank. While another pump/nozzle can send 1000gph in a strong stream blowing stuff all over the place.

Four koralias 4s= 4800 gph which might be perfect for your 90. Where 1 Maxi jet 1200 with the big prop mod = 2400 gph may be much for a 90.

Maybe add one more K4 and put it on a lamp timer 4 hour on 4 off. See how your corals respond when its off and when its on (wait a week to judge) then maybe a 4th.

Two tunze 6101s w multicontroller in my 120.

I just set up a 20 gal long sps frag tank tied to the same sump as the 120, and I have a mag 3 for return, which puts out about 220 gallons an hour into the tank (actual return test after plumbing connection loss), and this 20 long tank also has a Tunze 6025 nanostream that flows 624 gallons an hour. So I guess I am at about 40-50x flow in that tank.
