What do you keep Alk at?

Those of you heavy on SPS... What do you maintain your alk at and why?

If possible speak the DKH language

I all ways keep my at 11 to 12 and never had any issues and my sps like love it.

I use a Doser and use to run mine at 7.25 low to 7.75 after dosing. I now run 8.25 low and 8.9 after dosing. When I ran it in the 7s there was just too little room for error. Usage went up and I didn't catch it in time and as a result I saw STN on a few pieces. Also, since I don't use Kalk or a Calcium reactor with my Alk being so low, my pH would dip below what I consider a comfortable level. Just my 2 cents.

With a doser I run at 9 dkh

i stay in the 7s (dkh) when nitrate is 2-5ppm
ill bump it to the 8s if i see nitrate OD in the 10ish ppm range (which has happened once)

try to stay 8.0+ but got stuck in 7.5-7.9 for a month or so. When it dips below 7.5 i get STN on a large percentage of frags which is hard to stop once it starts its slow warpath to death. The larger colonies seem to weather it much better.
