I’m new to the hobby and bought this, I don’t remember what they said it was. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like Turbinaria (now Duncanopsammia) scroll coral. You've mounted it upside down, it will want the polyps facing upwards. They like moderate flow and lighting, and can take a fairly wide range of conditions. They also like to be fed, but they don't require it.

Definitely. It is a plating coral by nature and will eventually grow into a bowl shape.
