0 Post count?

Holy cow, Barbara! Just your post count. Nice!

And you joined more than a year after I did! Well, I didn't really become active until last year...

Think of it as a reward system as well as protection. Making meaningful posts allows you to get to now everyone as well as us to get to know you and your setup. The protection comes in that we have these precautions to prevent spammers and scammers to hop on and bother our beloved members (you included) at any level.
Welcome and enjoy the site bro! If you need anything we are here to help, learn and share right along with you
Hope to see you at the next meeting and happy reefing

Make a random thread, such as one that intoduce yourself and/or tank, to up ur count to the minimum. Usually mods dont mind and its a great way to say HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!! one 111one!!

That's perfect and what a way to discuss your system with us. We love to learn right along with you and don't be modest. I alone have been blown away from mild to wild setups. The coolest part is when your post helps and inspires someone else.

Reason: Post padding</em>

Posting things like "Nice tank" or "Good luck" especially in older threads is generally seen as a user posting simply to attain a post count necessary to post items for sale.

Bingo. The post requirements (whether you love them or hate them) are in place for two reasons: first, to keep spammers out and second, to insure that the ARC doesn't turn into a Craigslist. The idea is to make our classifieds available for those who are interested in progressing in the hobby (i.e., contributing to the forums) rather than posting fluff to get their count up so they can hawk their gear here for free.

We want the posts that are required to be relevant to the hobby (ideally, telling us about our new users and their system/experience).

See above. Participate! And, welcome to the ARC.

We (meaning the club's officers, though I am not one) don't ever mean to sound holier-than-thou about post counts. It's just that the above-mentioned scenarios were very common before the policy was implemented.

You mean join the club? Absolutely! On the main page, there is a "join the ARC" link. Actually, joining via PayPal is easier than any other way.

EDIT: Dang, I'm slow tonight

Your brain is in "build" mode...lol.

I think signatures and avatars are a perk for members.

No reason you can't join if you're not in ATL. I'm down 85 in Alabama but regularly attend meetings and when I do go to ATL for other reasons, I always make sure to bring back something fish related to make the trip seem worth it, lol.

I was confused about this as well as ive made a few posts in the drygoods/livestock section and my post count didn't go up.....

I am in the same boat, I am trying to look at some of the "for sale" items but need a higher post count to communicate
