1 lonely aiptasia... lets get him

So I have had an off and on again battle with some aiptasia, which I finally won, so I thought. I used a combination of peppermint shrimp and aiptasia x.... it finally worked, so I thought. I just found a rather large mofo on the sand bed in the back of the tank. Can I just scoop out the sand with him in it and remove him or will it shoot spores? I have the aiptasia x still, but if I can just remove it, I want to do it.

Thoughts?

I've been able to scoop out of sand intact successfully.

I used a small shop vac to get the ones that sprout in the sand lol.

I have not scooped him out yet for fear of it spurting out and then having a bunch more. Think I can use a regular net to get it?

I used my hand. Scooped up the sand under it. It stayed intact no problem.

Ha, I hear that. I have battled them for a while. Using Aiptasia X on many of them, then finally got a peppermint shrimp that went to work and got the rest. That was a pretty long time ago, so seeing one on the sand in the back of the tank was a surprise.

I just scooped it out with a net so we will see....
