10gal AIO build

So if you guys havent seen my DIY AIO thread here it is -

This will be the build.

So here is the tank I made. I added a 226 gph pump and plumbed the return.

For the light I recycled my old Nano cube light. It was another guy's DIY. It has 1 150 wat MH, and 2 blue antinics.

I wasn't going to hang the hood over my tank for obvious reasons -

So I built a box out this scrap piece of 1x8 and a scrap piece of plywood. I used a circular saw for the 1x8, table saw for the plywood, and a finish nailer to tack it together.

I'm going to have to install 2 fans on top of the fixture because the MH keeps overheating. Does anyone have any advice on this? I can wire PC fans to wall outlets, but I'd rather get a power supply I could wire them to. That way I don't have to have so many wires or outlets taken up.

I prefer the minimalist scape, but I knew something was missing. It was a bit too scarce.

I ended up gluing rocks, and then splitting some larger pieces to achieve this more flowing scape. I'm much more content with it.

I am a little concerned about your stand. Is that a wire mess stand?

I know it is just a 10 gallon, but 100 pounds maybe too much for it.

I think he is fine on the stand. Some of those shelving units are rated to hold multiple hundreds of pounds. But if you don't have something between the metal shelf and the tank I would put a piece of thin plywood or something between to spread the weight evenly through the bottom of the tank. If it's just sitting directly on the metal then it can cause pressure points on the glass which can lead to cracks/brakes in the glass.

Yeah, the shelf is rated for 250.
