130 Gallon Display Mixed Red Sea Reefer 625 XXL

Good day. I’ve been out of the hobby for a few years. I had a 75 gallon anemone tank with metal halides previously. Most with DIY stuff and a HOB skimmer. I’ve been blessed with another opportunity so I stepped it up. I started putting it all together at the end of January 2025. The blue pictures (sorry) are where I am today. If you have Hydros questions ask I’ve programmed my ATO and Feeder I also have the new Frozen feeder coming.

Control: Coralvue Hydros
Display: REDSEA REEFER 625 (130 gallons)
Lights: 3 XR30 Blue G6 - at 40% working to 50% next 60 days.
Return Pmp: Ecotech Vectra M2 - 30% Gives me about 4 churns an hour.
Circulation: 4 Ecotech MP40 running independently Lagoon at 40%
Skimmer: Tunze 9410DC - Running at not quite the lowest speed currently.
Mechanical Filter: ReefMat 500 - works great easy to change the fleece.
GEO Fluidized Media Chamber
GEO Ozone reactor Ozotech 200 generator, and air dryer.
GEO Algae Reactor
GEO Calcium Reactor - I don’t use it yet.
Plank Auto-feeder
Helio Heaters 1500W if memory serves split in two 750W heaters.
ATO is a Coralvue Hydros SOLE setup with the Kraken and a 15 gallon res.
Dosing Ecotech Vera I use 1 for All for Reef but have a bunch.
I have a battery backup that powers 2 of my MP40s and the controller.

200# of rock between my display and sump. I’m technical not creative so the scape is meh.

It’s all a bit of a mess I’ve been cleaning it up in stages and as I learn what works and what doesn’t.
Nothing has been in it more than a month or 2. I’m super cautious.

I just bought the frozen feeder too. I'm really hopeful it works well because I go out of town a lot and that's a big piece to being fully automatic.

I travel a lot as well and my wife knows only to just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. I have the Avast Plank setup via my controller to drop a blend of pellets and freeze dried foods several times a day. I only feed frozen occasionally and target feed my ‘active feeding corals’ Duncan’s, Favia, Plates. My intent is to try phyto and some frozen and see how that works. I’ll use a 0-10V interface to control the aF4.
One of the reasons I use All for Reef is it contains Calcium, Magnesium and trace elements. Granted I don’t have massive specimens at this point, but
9/6 Sal dKH Mag, Cal, PO4 & NO3.

I check Cal & Mag once a month the rest once a week because I’m increasing my PAR levels and trying to maintain a consistent nutrient level. They were non-existent which was troublesome.

looking forward to seeing how this thank grows~. You have awesome setup! As much as I like “clean” looking tank, I really enjoy seeing the bricks and mortars that runs the system.

I’m also interested in these frozen feeders. Looks like quite a few are coming out in the market. Ive seen 2 so far. I travel much (writhing this from S Korea atm), and I have left 4cubes of frozen in each of small containers (about 4) in the freezer that my wife takes out every 3 -4 days to feed the tank in the morning and the afternoon as I only feed frozen. I find that having smaller portions made are much better at keeping it fresh. (Use to have 8 cubes per containers). I just make sure she uses clean spoon each time to prevent unwanted bacteria from the tank entering the food container. I feed mixture of 4 different food varieties minimum.

I appreciate your input on feeding. I’m on the fence, but want the option to do something else and modify livestock as I gain experience. I have the easiest SPS I could find when I master the stability challenge then I’ll go Acro and Anthea. Biggest challenge is not going ADHD and making a lot of changes. I got new lights need them at PAR - next two months. I’ll need to move my frags about to find the right spots. I know it doesn’t need to be 2-months, but it gives me observation time on my lower light LPS and better control of my parameters.

It’s funny I’ve shown my wife what aiptasia looks like, so now every LFS gets an inspection and an alert for every Paly in the bottom of a frag display - she refers to them as fantasia. Welcome to the wonderful world of Disney.

I recently got my wife a pulsing xenia so I know how you feel. lol.

I personally zooplankton dosing (pods) is as important as dosing phytoplankton. Dosing both seems to be the best. I use reef nutrient’s photo because it suppose have all sorts of em. When ever i remember to do so, which is not often as it should be.
