I am in the process of building a 150 gallon tank in my living room with the sump down in my basement with an auto water change station.

Let me start by telling you a little about myself and how i got started. My name is ronnie i live in woodstock ga i have been in the rv industry for 20 years and just recently (last year) was able to open my own rv dealership. This has taken a ton of my time as you can imagine but fortunately for me i had already found a love for saltwater tanks.

About 8 months prior to that i had talked to brandon mason about the interest i had in the hobby and he told me he had a 29 gallon biocube for sale so i took it. After alot of questions and many many times back and forth to creation and optimum i was starting to get a handle so to speak on the process of keeping an aquarium going. Dont get me wrong i had my share of deaths with different corals, fish and anemones and it was frustrating at times but everyday i found myself coming home and staring at my little biocube and its life with joy.

With most all hobbies in life at some point in time work will get in the way. Two months ago my business was wide open and flourishing which kept me there 12+ hours a day and guess what got neglected yup the biocube. Hair algae was bad, corals losing color, some dying, lack of water changes, peramter swings.i thought its time to take this down and focus on work and so i did. I got rid of all the livestock and cleaned up the biocube and put it in my basement. I knew i was done for the time being but i knew i wanted to get back in someday with a larger tank which i already had in my garage from a steal of a deal my fiances uncle had given me

less than a week after taking the cube down i realized that i was having saltwater withdrawals lol. So i decided to start my build now starting with the basement sump room and working my way up from there.realizing with my busy schedule that i needed to simplify the process as much as i could. I will be updating periodically so i hope you enjoy

Work on the stand for the sump room and the water station

What was interesting or funny about this table is I had Home Depot cut the wood top for me so I could get it home from there and just started building the stand for it in the garage. after it was completely built and the top put on I realized this was probably to wide to go through the door of my garage. Lucky me it fit by 1/4" on either side.Dodged a bullet there

An auto water change station sounds cool... plus I like following these build threads. Looks good so far!

So there was carpet on the floor in the basement which was very old and the walls were painted this baby blue color. Considering i will be spending more time down in the basement i thought i might go ahead and refinish it so i painted the walls a dark grey and installed 100% waterproof vinyl click lock flooring which i think turned out awesome.

Dry run of the table and the water station. I have already noticed that by stacking 2 45 gallon brute containers on top of each other its gonna leave me with very little room to add salt or get into the bottom tank. I am going to go a different direction for the upper tank and create some separation from the top stand

Looks awesome Mr I'll probably never go bigger than 29 gallons... we told you it was addicting.

Looking great!

You're on the right track with making everything easy as possible. The easier, the more likely you are to do it!

My weekend project trying to get everything wired up found a white medicine cabinet at home depot and reconfigured it for my needs. The DOS system will be used for continuous water changes. I will be adding more stuff as I go
