I am in the process of building a 150 gallon tank in my living room with the sump down in my basement with an auto water change station.
Let me start by telling you a little about myself and how i got started. My name is ronnie i live in woodstock ga i have been in the rv industry for 20 years and just recently (last year) was able to open my own rv dealership. This has taken a ton of my time as you can imagine but fortunately for me i had already found a love for saltwater tanks.
About 8 months prior to that i had talked to brandon mason about the interest i had in the hobby and he told me he had a 29 gallon biocube for sale so i took it. After alot of questions and many many times back and forth to creation and optimum i was starting to get a handle so to speak on the process of keeping an aquarium going. Dont get me wrong i had my share of deaths with different corals, fish and anemones and it was frustrating at times but everyday i found myself coming home and staring at my little biocube and its life with joy.
With most all hobbies in life at some point in time work will get in the way. Two months ago my business was wide open and flourishing which kept me there 12+ hours a day and guess what got neglected yup the biocube. Hair algae was bad, corals losing color, some dying, lack of water changes, peramter swings.i thought its time to take this down and focus on work and so i did. I got rid of all the livestock and cleaned up the biocube and put it in my basement. I knew i was done for the time being but i knew i wanted to get back in someday with a larger tank which i already had in my garage from a steal of a deal my fiances uncle had given me
less than a week after taking the cube down i realized that i was having saltwater withdrawals lol. So i decided to start my build now starting with the basement sump room and working my way up from there.realizing with my busy schedule that i needed to simplify the process as much as i could. I will be updating periodically so i hope you enjoy
