1st cycle

Using dead shrimp method to cycle my 75 gallon. place 3 in yesterday and was curious what to expect as far as ammonia reading and time frame to run cycle.

already have my live rock in (100 lbs). should the shrimp be causing such a bad odor? I put in 3 med/lg shrimp and my house reeks.

I do not think I have ever smelled anything as bad as the shrimp I took out of my tank. It was stomach turning, make sure you get rid of the shrimp. Do not throw in a garbage can in the garage.

at what point do i pull out the shrimp?

Is there a proper level of ammonia to hit?
