2 mp10s on a 90?

I am running a 30 gallon right now with the plans to upgrade. I was going to buy one now and the other mp10 with the new tank if everyone agrees that 2 mp10s would create enough flow for a 90.

Yes. I believe they max out at a little over 1500 GPH, plus the return, IMO you should be fine.

I agree, the 3 MP10's will be enough.

If you want, you could also include a MP40 later on when the 90 is running. This will give you great variable flow, especially if you have the ES models.

I'd steer you towards an MP-40. Don't get too caught up in the GPH flow of them. Running a 40 turned down lower is better than running a 10 maxed out.

My thoughts on 2 mp10s is obvioulys cost, and having two running in case one fails I would still have moderate flow from the other one. I just see spending 900 for two mp40 being worth it.

I would also suggest the MP40s. I run two of these on each side of my 90g and a MP10 on the back wall and have great flow in my tank.

the 2 MP40s would have worked, but I wanted to take advantage of the Nutrient Export mode and to do that you have to have 3.

I had a 10 on my 30 gallon and have since upgraded to a 90. I went with a MP40 in addition to my MP10 on the 90 and its great. The MP40 running at a lower speed is a good bit quieter than the MP10 running faster but the 10 does provide a good ammount of flow.

Pick up 1 mp-40 and use a Koralia or something else (MP-10?) to supplement. You will be MUCH happier than with 2 MP-10s.

I have an mP40 to act as a wave maker and an mp10 for additional flow. It works great! Quite a few arc members have seen the wave action on my tank and decided that their old Koralias or other pumps just wouldn't cut it anymore.

I have a mp40es on my 40g breeder. totally worth it.

now I will be upgrading to a 125g 6' tank which i will be adding more mp40s or mp60s... not sure yet

I was pretty happy with 2 mp10s on my 72 bow they worked well, however It would have been nice to have had a 40

I have 1 mp10 left if you would like to buy it.

I had 3 Mp10s on my 120 and it was ok then i bought two more mp40s and its rocking with two mp10s and two m040s

I have two MP10s on a 65 gal. I would suggest one MP10 and one MP40 at least.

I would not say that MP10s are not worth the money. On a smaller tank they work great.

I would suggest staying away from the new Maxijets. I bought a few 900 and 1200s for my mixing station, water changes, and my reactor and they are not nearly as well made as they use to be.

I assent saying mp10's are bad there is nothing better in my opinion on the market that is better suited for nanos especially nano nps tanks
Just putting it out there that 1 mp40 and a decent return seams better for a 90 then 2mp 10 on a 90

Remember the thickness of the glass too. Mp10's dont work as well with thick glass. I forgot what the limit is, but I wouldnt do it on anything more than a 60 gal.

I think I that the mp40 is the way to go. I am kinda a newbie to the reeding world and have found great information from this forum. Thanks for the input. Would a 40 and a 10 be a good pairing? I was always under the assumption that the vortechs worked better in pairs.

if you have the newer model mp40s they have the nutrient export system which works better in pairs and more.

ive been curious about this. is it only the wireless that sync up, or all es? and i assume they work perfectly fine together even when not sync'ed, correct?
