Guys, I have a separate 15 gallon acrylic cube cheato refugium on my 300/150 gallon system. I light it with a Home Depot type clamp lamp with a 23 watt, screw in 2700K CF floodlight. Grows cheato like crazy. How often are you guys replacing these with new ones? I have replaced it once and then just reused the old bulb as an outside floodlight bulb (it's true purpose).

I was actually thinking of using it until the cheato stops growing quickly, but was wondering what others have done? I don't even know if there is a need to replace the bulb at intervals, like halide bulbs?

In my planted tank it's been 2 yrs on the same reg flourescent coral sun bulb.
The white halimeda I just picked up is now as green as my caulerpa. I woulda lost money on that bet.
Plants I think can adjust easier. Going long term and switching to a new bulb however may need some acclimating. I think then we'll need to cut back our photo period and adjust accordingly
