The 3rd pic are your sump right? if so then turn the buckhead around. This way you can remove it if and when you like without much of a trouble
 
the rubber gasket need to be on the inside of the tank or else it will leak. also thats not my sump just a tank i was practicing my drilling on. i might use it for a frag tank
 
you can put the rubber gasket inside. You just turn the buckhead around and put the ruber gasket inside. I did mine like that and never had any problem. It will take a little more room in the tank
 
You might want to paint the back sides of the tank now, while it's still easy!
