Just wanted to give some of you a heads up! I'm assuming there is some kind of "bad batch" or 400W radium bulbs. The bulb will turn pink within a few hrs of burn in time. There is a thread on RC with pictures but you'll know it when you get it. I'm working with my LFS to get it exchanged and I'll keep the thread updated with what happens.

Last I read up on it, it is rather specific to running on e-ballast that cant be overdriven (non dimmables). if you run them on an HQI or dimmable (overdriveable), they are supposedly classic radium. But, as I have non dimmables, I am afraid to try them for the awful pink pictures Ive seen.

I've got them on adjustable coralvue. It's pink from 270watts all the way up to 430w, just lighter and darker pink.

Ha. Shows what I know. One dude had 2 of 3 biulbs that would be pink or blue, from day to day. It had no rhyme or reason. Jeremy from Premium Aquatics said he believes its a ballast issue, not a bulb issue, but other very knowledgeable people said the bulbs are flawed. Either way, I wasnt going to change it for an $80 bulb, no less the 3 I'd need.

I here ya. I've moved the bulb to another ballast and the pinkness still remains...weird.

FYI: no pink here. I bought bulbs from 2 different sources recently. galaxy select a watt.

Sadly, it's not hard to tell. I picked it up right away...sux...

What is the manufacturer saying about this?

haven't herd anything just yet. If you look at the sand on the right you'll see it's not blue. It does suck
