So the wife advised me she wanted a new pet in the house and it was going to be Nemo by default. She wanted to slap it together and put fish in it the next day. So, I sat her down and explained the amount of time this is going to take.

With the help from Reefknight (thanks again) we have decided to go with the Marineland 60gal cube w/ corner over flow and the black Monterey stand (will be here next week). So my question is about the sump for this tank. The inside stand dimensions are 22.5" x 22.5". Does any one know any builders that build sumps in these dimentions or is anyone selling a sump for this type of stand (as long as it dont break my nano allowance pocket).

Thanks

I had MRC build me a custom one - check my old FS thread.
True piece of art, call Raj and he will take care of you...

You can do a DIY sump out of a 10g tank from pets marts. Then get some acrylic or glass and do some baffles on the inside. It can be as cheap as $40. Of course you can use a bigger tank as well if it will fit. I just used the 10g as an example Because I know the dimensions of it. Try to google some DIY to get an example. Hope that helps

+1 on what Robb said. MRC makes great looking products but they are on the higher price range.

Two ten or 15 gallons side by side would fit perfectly. Use one for a sump and one for an ATO reservoir. An ATO is one of the first upgrades you will want.

Sorry about this but I must have 10 post before I can't respond back to an item that is for sale...?

Edit: 6

BTW, welcome to ARC. There are some great folks here with some great advice. :)

AND, start taking pictures. We like to see what's going on with your tank. :photo:

I will start taking pics as soon as the tank comes in we are waiting and hopefully it will be in this week.

Warner Robins! Sweet, I am right down the road from you in Cochran. If you like, you could bring her by and let her view a small reef tank and allow her to fall in love with the hobby! I have a 45 gallon oceanic tech tank.

I may just be down that way. I pm'd shortblock about his Refractometer he has for sale. so if he sells it to me i may just hit you up.

I understand the space issue. Word to wise though, an RODI unit will save you a very large headache down the road. When mine is not in use, I stuff it under the kitchen sink.

Edit: Also, Chris @ Fish Scales does custom sump builds.

I think I am gonna have that as an upgrade later down the road. once its up and running im sure i will kick my own butt for not taking up on it..

Yeah, I learned the hard way. I had a fit getting rid of Hair Algae.

That's great. One of these days I am going to try and get a bunch of us together and make a round at the stores. I'll be in touch!
