I am cycling my diy live rock with BB I have had cocktail shrimp in for two weeks this Thursday. My ammonia levels are spiking at this moment. I did a 75/90 diy led build from rapid led that are working great. I am now on the hunt for a protein skimmer. I have a 175 gallon system what would be a good protein skimmer on a budget. I am looking under 200 dollars if possible. Any and all advice would be grateful. I am a diyer do save funds, and to make it my own. If you build it you know it. Thanks for the help

dont skimp on the skimmer it is the most important component in a reef aquarium get a mrc or a reef octopus you cant go wrong. i have an ae-tech on mine but i beleive they are out of business

I don't want to skimp I just want to get my money's worth without getting top off the line equipment. I don't want to pay for overkill is the bed way to put it

This is some pictures of my sump room and what my diy stand looks like I have the canopy off working on some diy fans to circulate some air in the canopy area to remove a condensations issue I am having during the cycling process, which would keep accruing during the life of my system
