I am running 3 t-12's 140 w each - 2 50/50 7 1 actinic on a 440 ballast
on my 100g

I am Wondering what would be the best halide set up to go with ?

and i am wondering if i can run 4 250w bulbs on a 1000 w ballast ?

And lastly anyone have any exp with sunlight supply products?

Thanks

Charles

Ive got a sunlight galaxy 250w ballast and and a reef optix3 reflector that both do a decent job. Its on my frag tank now but previously was over my 40gallon and my par ratings were 400 at the top and 200 on the sand bed.

As far as running 4 250W on a 1000w ballast, that won't work as they aren't designed like that. A 1000W ballast will drive a single 1000W bulb. You'd need 4 250W ballasts or 2 dual 250W ballasts to run 4 bulbs.

speaking of par rating - what is the best way to measure that ? this is a cell phone shot of the tank real quick -

and i am thinking of re doing the lighting on this one when i set up the 55 Oceanic i have. any suggestions on what it would need ?

but if i spend the few hundred for the par meter then the Boss will not me buy the lights lol

Tis a double edge sword.. You can always pull the "It was an accident, I didnt mean to hit confirm, I was just checking prices after shipping.. OOPS"

hit up rc, there are many great deals on mh supplies. Stay away from buying used bulbs but ballasts and reflectors are game.

What size tak is this, and what are the measurements?. Gotta be pretty big for four 250 watt halides.

outside dim are 60lx19wx20h approx 100g

4 250's may be overkill ( why i am looking for input suggestions lol )

Next question - will by 440w ballast drive t-5's? i was thinking of putting 4 in in place of the 3 t 12 i have now
