So how do you know when to give up on a coral? And I assume you remove it so it doesn't break down in the tank right?

when its completely white....that is if its an SPS. LPS will leave a smaller skeleton behind and softies will just melt away.

Be careful..I almost gave up on my SS Monti and it's now coming back after being white & brown. Green polyps and orange skin is returning!

I am going to throw a couple corals that aren't doing well into my cube in the kitchen and see if they come back over time. Not expecting much.

Is this the same tank that is 1.020? if so, corals dont live at that salinity- get it up. See your other post.

Yes, the salinity was dropped and now it is being brought back up.

Sounds good but I'm just getting things back in order before I share pics or anything like that. A little irritating as I'm sure you know. Once i get things settled, I'll throw more corals and shrimp back in. Find me some $20 cleaner shrimp!
