A question about my Green Hairy

We got this guy a few months ago. He was about the size of a quarter.
Now he's about as big around as a soda can.

Anyway, last night I dropped in some pellets for the fish and I saw him doing this:

It's the light, almost white center circle that we've never seen before.
My wife thinks it's pooping. I've see him poop before but it's never involved a bright white circular thingy in the middle.

Has anyone else seen this?
What is it?
 
Yup, just excreting waste. That's just the inside of it's mouth pushing whatever out.

That's what my wife said.
It's not stressed out in anyway. It is, fat and happy.

Yeah, could be. If you look hard enough, you can see a few pellets sitting on it.
Our Duncan eats up the pellets like candy.
Heck, the Duncan eats almost anything that gets close enough for it to grab.
