So I get a call last week from a guy that I work with who said he noticed that I have "marine aquaria" listed on my FB page as a hobby.
He continues to tell me that there is someone close bye who needs to get rid of 2 "nemo fish" and a blue fish with a yellow stripe.. which translates into 2 clowns and a yellow tail damsel haha
I called the number he gave me and spoke to a nice lady who said she was about to flush the fish because she had to move the tank ASAP!
Within a few mins I was at her house with a bucket. One typical petsmart clown and another very pretty black clown
It was my tank or the toilet so I took them home.. acclimated them and put them in my tank (YES I KNOW I should have qtd them but I didnt for a lot of reasons I don't want to explain haha). It was a gut feeling that they were ok, and so far I've been right.. lets hope it holds out.
The problem going into this was that I HAVE a BIG maroon clown named Guido and I KNEW he wouldn't be happy about it. I thought I would at least give the fish a fighting chance at survival.
So the first 2 days all I hear is plop plop plop as Guido constantly chases them out of the water. Both the new fish had to live in a single corner pressed against the acrylic up close to the surface.
A week later Guido seems to have calmed down A LOT. He may chase them but, only a few times a day (that I notice). The bullying has REALLY slowed down a lot.
Both new fish eat like hogs (and I've been throwing the food to them pretty heavily to try to help), they look ok considering what they've been through.
Think they have weathered the storm? Think Guido will eventually begrudging accept his homeless tank mates?
