What am I gonna do with all this food?!?!

Hey,
Congratulations my man! If you are getting it all at once and don't think you'll go through it, I'd sell off what you consider excess.

If you keep it and need to store it long term, put the unopened food in another freezer bag, and you should be good from freezer burn for a long while.

Thanks guys, I've been wanting to try this food for a while now.

I thanks for the advice, how long does frozen food typically last? I only have a few fish so I don't go through a lot of food.

Here is an article on mysis storage and expiration dates on frozen fish food. I don't know the knowledge level of the author, but he states 6 months is the max you want to store frozen fish food.

And this interval is corroborated by recommended storage maximum times from this UGA website:

Probably enough information to make an informed decision. Rod's food is really expensive. This is a nice prize.

If you have one or have a friend with a FoodSaver vacuum system, you can keep seafood in the freezer up to 2 years. It is a system that sucks most of the oxygen out of their brand thick freezer bag, then heat seals it.

I have one, and it works quite well. I used to make my own beef heart based Discus food and stored it via a FoodSaver.

I'd happily do it for free if you want to come by. You just need to buy the freezer bags for me. They can be bought at Wal-Mart. I think they end up being about 50 cents each or so. You just have to make sure they are Food Saver brand, and that they fit the size packages you get.

Very nice. I saw it on FB a couple weeks ago but I guess I wasn't quick enough. Couldn't have go to a more deserving guy.

Congrats! You could bring some to the ARC meetings and sell some there. The election is right around the corner, sell some as the members sign in.

Thanks Dave, I'll take you up on that.

Rich thanks. Rods does a free giveaway every Friday on Facebook too.

Wannabee- I might bring some if I get it delivered by next weekend.

Congrats Sean!!! If you need to sell some of that please let me know. I'm running low and need a few packs.
