Recently, I am noticing that my Acans are covered in some web like strings as well as my Dragon Soul.
I tried to blow them away but they reappear the next day. All other corals look normal.
Does anybody knows what that is, thanks for inputs.

My acans do the same thing when they are irritated, especially when the are irritated. I think its a defense mechanism but I could be wrong. Someone here will know

look into vermetid snails. they put out webs of mucus like that to catch food.

Could be mesenterial filaments. Any corals close by or anything messing with it?

Ive noticed my acans produce something like this when irritated. Usually after transportation/acclimation.

Heres an article on vermetid snails

Thanks for all the inputs.

My Acans and D.S. are not on the sand bed, they are on the live rock 4-6" above the ground and there is no other coral near by. aAso I don't have any snails except 4 of Nassarius snails. Only seen them when lights off or feeding time.

you may have vermetid snails and not know it. they dont look like snails. they look like little tubes sticking up from the rocks and are not really noticeable unless you are looking for them

I found some on my another Acan Echinata too.
These webs are easy to blow them off and left a little bit on one end and look like they are come from the the Acan's mouth.

Finally, found some vermedit snails (tiny tubes) live in the mouths of Acans.
Is it any medication I can dip the Acans or have to manualy remove them ?

The vermatid snails won't harm anything. They are probably feeding on the same things as the Acans, or on the waste of the Acans.

If you really feel you must do away with them, I don't know of any 'medication' that will kill them without harming the coral, I suppose you could plug up their tubes with glue or something but I personally wouldn't do that.

Thanks Jenn for the advice.

while jenn is right that they are harmless, i don't like them because the mucus is annoying and i get rid of them when i see them.

The only realy bad thing about vermatid snails is that sometimes they grow in bad spots on the coral and can irritate them slightly. Also if they are growing on the rockwork they are known to cut peoples arms and hands up if you were to accidently brush up against them while removing rock etc....
