Acro Crab??

So I got a killer deal on this awesome purple acro tonight. And as i'm putting it in the tank I see a small white crab about the size of a tv remote button on a branch. Is it an acro crab or should I banish it to the sump? Pic to follow shorthly.

Here is a good description of it. I think it is on to but it is just so hard to tell!

I've gotten several here recently. It seems that every colony of corals I've bought from Marine Designs has had one hitch hiking. They are pretty cool too.

Well I had Robb come over and confirm what I thought. And we both strongly believe that it is an acro crab so that is a good thing.

Yeah, the have a symbiotic relationship with the coral. They're a lot of fun.

Well I saw the acro crab yesterday. And I don't think it is one after all. The thing has grown a lot. Have not seen it off of the acro. If he is out on Saturday when everyone is over for the TOT I'll get there opinion. If i can I'll catch it and put it in the sump.

Yep, my latest mille from there had one. Didn't notice till I put it in the tank.

How big would you say yours is? Mine went for 3/8 to over a half inch is just a few months. And would you say the crab was smooth of furry looking?

Maybe 1/4"-3/8" total and I've only had him a few weeks. Very bright white and very smooth.

if its a smooth white one with a black stripe across its face then its a good one....(bandit crab)....if its furry and has greenish blue eyes......get it off!!....i had one of the furry ones on my acro and there's definitely some damage done where he was sitting at...eventually they will kill that section of the colony and a hole will form and they'll sit in there
