Adding a tank to the system...maybe

Ok, I have a 120 reef tank with my sump in the basement. I am 99.9% sure I would like to add another tank to the system. The new tank is a 200 dd (48x36x27). I have the life support already on the existing system. Way overkill for the 120.

My questions is this: if you have 2 tanks is one always on the back burner?

Yup, I've always had multiple tanks and always end up with a "display" and one I'm "working on". Im sure results vary

I have 5. Three sumps. One 30 gallon refugium with RDSB and algea....one 100 gallon with excess live rock...one 40 gallon to house skimmer, return, etc. one 59 gallon frag tank. One 125 gallon display. I'm adding a second frag tank @ 59 gallons. And a forth sump at 55 so I can increase flow. That would be a total of seven tanks @ 460+ gallons. Go for it. Lol.

I have 2 tanks that share a sump with different species of clowns in them and they get equal care but not equal attention. The 120 is much more diverse (and big) than the 28. I originally brought them together to save money on running extra pumps when I was getting started, now pumps are not really my problem! It is nice to share water capacity!

we have a 210 and a 60 on the same sump system so its not like takin care of two systems and they both are working out great. i like to have them on the same system for the added water volume (bigger is better with water volume )
