my gf has a 20 with a black and white clown that is mine, hes a little aggressive. she wants to add a royal gramma of her own and im worried about the royal gramma getting beat up. I currentlt still have a blue chromis that used to be in the same tank as the black and white clown.

do you think if I add these 2 fish at the same time it would be too fast for the tank? it is just a 20, with a hang back filter and skimmer.

Adding both should be okay. With a skimmer on a 20g, you should be able to handle the bioload with no problem.

And a Royal Gramma is a pretty fiesty fish. It should be able to hold its own against the clown.

okay cool. The clown and chromis wont be in there for a very long time. She just wants a fish of her own right now...
thanks for the info.

You'd be surprised how well a royal gramma can hold it's own. I have one he defends my chromis from my clowns. I've seen him bare his teeth and bump right into the female clown. They have a huge set of teeth for such a small fish.

In fact, I once came home and saw that both of my clowns had parts of their fins ripped off and one had a bite mark on him. I'm pretty sure my royal gramma saw the clowns picking on my chromis and had enough. Royal grammas can definitely hold their own!!

my royal gramma use to beat up my clarkii when i first put him in, now they get along fine :w00t:
