can i put a small emperor angel fish in a tank with a powder blue tang. ? the tank is 75 gal. with sand and live rock the tang has been in there for 4 years . there are no corals or clams in the tank .the tang is about 3.5 inches long ,i guess my question is will they attack one another? thanks in advance

Just my opinion, but I think a 75 gallon tank is too small for an Emperor angel.

FWIW- I had one in a 150. It grew up from an immature 3 inch fish to over a foot. Great fish, with lots of personality.

Agreed with the above... an Emporer will get way too big for that tank.

thanks to all how long do you think it will take for it to grow out of my tank? my powder-blue tang only grew about 1.5 inches in 3 years or so. the fish has no ich and has always been healthy.there is only a wrasse in there with it .plenty of room to swim.

An established PBT will be aggressive to most any fish you add.
Generally a PBT is one of the last fish added in a stocking scheme.
The aggression may be short lived but he will definetly defend his turf to newcomers.
I'm just sayin...

IMO it depends on there diet, how often you feed and the size of the aquarium. I normally feed 2 to 3 times a day, had a PBT who went from 3 inches to about 5-6 inches in my 6ft long 125 in about 3 mths. My emperor is in a 220 7ft long. Got him about 6 mths ago and he was about 1-2 inches and now he's about 4-5 inches.
