I have 2 ai sol blues mounted on an 18 inch ext rail hanging about 9 inches above the water and my tank is 72 long and 28 inches top to bottom so I'd say about 30-32 inches from the sand bed depending on the area of the tank I've got a good 4-6 inch sand bed cuz I originally wanted a small area with a few garden eels but heard they were too much work

Currently my settings are easy timer 8am-9p with a 4 hr ramp time up to 100% on all 3 colors

I only have mushrooms and zoos/plays right now and 1 leather on the sand bed and everything seems happy and fully open they were in a 27g cube with a 150w de hexarc 14k bulb about 2.5 inches off the water so they are used to high light

I'm just wondering if when I get new frags this will be too much light? I'm also hopping to get an rbta soon and possibly a clam down the road
Any users have a good detailed timer settings ?

Sorry to be long winded lol

I run three on my 72" 150, run em at 100% and if you ask me i think i "need" one more. BTW check out my DIY thread on the rain machine for these bad boys..... i can help you make one if you want

IDK if you want to start that high. i've heard stories of people switching to LEDs, even from MH, only to bleach out their corals. i'd start lower and if they respond well then take up the intensity.

I changed my optics out to all 70* and have 2 hanging 4" awl over 65g reef. My settings ramp from 9:00 to 95% across all channels over 240m. At 4:00 they ramp to 0w 20b 25rb over 240m. At 8:00 they ramp to lunar settings 0w 0b 4rb over 120m. I started blues at 70 and whites at 40 and went up 5% each week. I have heard (from rep) long periods at 100% do decrease the life of the light. It was recommended to stay at 95%.

Will try to take some and start a thread.

How long do you stay at 100%? Just start frags on sandbed and move up. I did that with my pieces and did not loose anything.

I will look for the waterfall thread for sure and let you know!

I'm honestly not sure how long they are at 100% the easy timer just asks for start/end and ramp time as well as max intensity..

Like I said all my current corals seems very happy.. GSP has exploded and went from 3x3 area to covering an entire like 10inch section of 2 rocks
And my palys are showing more extension toward the light than I've ever seen in the cube they were in

I will change the settings to 90% later when I can get to them to extend the life cuz at 400 a pop they need to last a good while.. We just got them for Xmas

I'm thinking of adding one if those new rapid led fixtures in the middle of the sols for more coverage since they are in my budget and full spectrum
