alt="" />I bought this SPS frag at the Expo and after gluing it to my rock, this algae has starting growing from the bottom of the frag plug. I'm afraid it Bryopsis so I haven't attempted to remove it for fear of spreading it throughout the tank. My anemone is also attached to this rock and it is quite large.
The best idea I have is to remove the rock from the tank, remove the SPS, scrub the rock and rinse it well.
My Anemone isn't going to be happy and I don't see any way to save the SPS.
Anyone have any better suggestions or ID of the algae?
Thanks

PLEASE HELP!
Hey all you knowledgable reefers....
Please give me your advice and words of wisdoms for dealing with this!

It doesn't look like Bryopsis to me. I would pull with one hand and suction with another just to be safe. If it pulls off easily it most likely hair algae and there is a lot of CoCs that love to eat it.

Ok great that's good news, ill try it.
I have a wide variety of cuc but evidently don't have the right ones. I've never seen anything picking at it.
Time to place an order from Reefs2Go?
Thanks a bunch.

Ok that's a better idea.
I'm afraid it's growing on the rock now too but this will reduce the possible amount that gets free in the tank. Don't know why I didn't think of that, perhaps lack of experience :)
Thanks Heath

let it sit for at least a minute, try to keep the acro out. And place a astria snail on the rock where the algae is
