Algea Boom

Algea boom. Anyone know a quick way to get rid of it outside of water change

Make sure your lights are not old and like you said...water changes. You have to get the food out of the water. An algae eating fish is a good idea as well but you might have to get a wild caught for immediate results.

Green Algea!!!!!! I have been doing water changes too!!! I think It may have helped.

A tooth brush and water changes is what I have done in the past.

A UV Sterilizer did wonders when I ran one....

Mexican Turbos or a sea hare. I'd try one of these and look at limiting your nutrient inputs. Look at how much you are feeding. Are you using filter socks or any type prefilter media, If yes, how often do you clean or change it out?

If you have a lot of horizontal surfaces in the tank, blowing them off once a week can help a lot as well. Detritus can settle on flat surfaces and crevices as. Algaefix works, but I'd try limiting inputs and some algae eaters before I use it.
