I sometimes get a small piece of aluminum in the tank when popping out the Ocean Nutrition fish food chunks. Is it safe or do I need to search and rescue? Thanks. :)

I'm not sure that is real aluminum. If it is, you want to avoid adding that to your tank, I read somewhere recently that Aluminum can contribute to algae growth.

I always pop food into a small glass of tank water and let my food defrost and it allows me to pick out any bits from the blister pack.

I thought this was the way everyone did it. And then use a baster to feed LPS and such.

I don't think it would be enough metal to amount to anything, but changing the way you feed your fish might be beneficial for other reasons.

I do it the way described above but mix in cyclopeeze etc. Sometimes it is hard to see the aluminum when my mix is done.
