Since a few have just started up Amino Acids and some have been doing it for years, I thought I'd share this Great article on Amino Acids and the role test they play...

Aquarium Corals: Amino Acids and Corals: Sources, Roles and Supplementation
By Tim Wijgerde, Ph.D.
Amino acids are a popular ingredient in aquarium additives nowadays, with many advertised beneficial effects on corals. In this article, I will provide some basic information about amino acids, and discuss their documented roles in coral biology. This will help the aquarist to make an informed decision about using concentrated amino acid as supplements for the marine aquarium.

So after reading that, is it safe to conclude that a healthy dose of fish poop and good husbandry is just as good as the expensive amino supplements??

It would be great for someone to do the 4 tank controlled testing and post the results with pics!!

I've ran the cheap seachem Reef Plus aminos for yeeeeears (at least 7). Never saw any adverse effects and always thought I had great coral growth and color. Does that have any effect on the coral....like the article says...who really knows, lol.
