Anenome BTA

White isn't a healthy colour - if it's white, it's bleached.

They do also come in brown.

I've got a bleached one that I inherited, what's the best way to bring it back w/o shocking it? It was green at one point, now snow white and smaller

Less light - it can't process light as well with fewer zooxanthellae in it (it expels them when it bleaches). Feed it meaty foods 2 or 3 times per week, if it will accept them that often (if it's not hungry, it won't eat). As long as its tentacles are still "sticky", and it can grab the food, feed it up and eventually the zooxanthellae will multiply within its tissues and it will colour up again.

Pink is usually a sign that a red/rose anemone has also bleached (=expelled some of its zooxanthellae).

I've nursed a few back to good colour from bleachy white.

They are a fleshy pink color, I've seen several

And it did turn purple in my tank after a few months of every other day feeding and a few inches under the MH

Just adding to the conversation... BTA's come in Green and Brown (most common) and red. White and pink (the bleached version of red) represent anemones in poor health.

I bought an anemone last year that I swore had a blue tint to it, but it turned green shortly after putting it in my system

i baught a yellow one the other day and seems to be darkening up in color a bit more butlooks pretty cool

I saw a purple one yesterday on liveaquaria Divers Den it was purple with green tips....pretty awesome looking.... had I not had 3 (from one splitting) in my tank I would have bought it.
