Another dumb plumbing question....

OK so I have a Mag 12 for my new 120g. The Mag 12 did not come with any attachments (reducers, etc.). So the Mag 12 output nozzle takes a 1 1/4 inch hose. But the bulkhead that came with the tank is the barbed kind and is too small for the hose. (1 1/4 hose swallows it.) So what are my options? If I put a reducer on the mag 12 so that both ends take say a 1 inch hose will it harm the pump? Better ideas? Thanks in advance.

You don't want to step down the pipe size. I would say switch the bulkhead.

Folks I figured it out. There are 2 overflows and 2 returns. I will run 1 1/14 hose out of the pump and "T" it off underneath using 1 inch hoses to each return. Thanks.
